This week’s show finds us heading back into the Buckeye State to connect with Defiance College head coach and 23-year continuous member Derek Woodley. He has a terrific story in 2019 as Defiance was picked to finish last in the conference which gave Woodley’s squad all of the ammunition they needed finishing third in their conference tournament and reaching their highest win total since 1995. Humility will be present throughout as we navigate this amazing story of maturation that will resonate with our coaches, finding himself in his own words ‘transactional’ early on in his career and over time embracing the true calling of coaches - relationships and enhancing the experiences of his players. Woods is one of those coaches that believes that he hasn’t worked a day in his life since he started coaching and that energy is palpable over the airwaves as his passion is contagious and it’s an honor to shine our light on Coach Woodley inside this episode.
