Show Notes

This week, we connect with NCAA Umpires Scott Kennedy and Mark Winters to hear their perspectives on the field. Both Kennedy and Winters have taken impressive journeys throughout baseball, working into various levels of the professional ranks and now serving within the ACC, Big 12 and Southeastern Conferences. In this dialogue, we unpack countless ways to improve the coach-umpire relationship, plus we hear about how our players can better approach umpires on the field - especially our catchers behind the plate. We dive into rule interpretations, pro tips on how to better approach indifferences on the field and even ways that coaches can enhance the relationship off the field with a few small adjustments that can go for miles. This is an important conversation with the baseball season looming as we all can dial in and challenge ourselves to be part of the solution on the field.
